Questionnaire

Introduction:

 

Note: This is to set the tone for the interviewee or group. I like to introduce myself and set “ground rules” for the discussion.

 

  • My name is Sean Peterson.

  • Thanks for talking to us today, we’ll be about 30 minutes.

  • We’re constantly trying to improve our product, and getting your frank feedback is a really important part of that.

  • This discussion is confidential – your personal information or specific answers won’t be used publicly so don’t hesitate speak your mind.

  • No right or wrong answers - very important to not say what you think I want to hear, but what you are actually thinking/feeling. Feel free to stop us at anytime for clarification, questions, or concerns.

  • We’ll be running through a few questions and scenarios from your day. 

  • We’d like you to speak out loud and tell us about everything you’re thinking/feeling/etc.

  • You’ll be recorded, but this information will not be distributed beyond our team, unless we reach out to you again for further permission to use an audio clip to publish our findings

  • What kind of work or studying do you do?

  • For how long have you been doing that?

  • What kinds of activities, hobbies or projects do you like to do when you’re not working?

 

Current Activities and Habits:

 

  • What do you do to daily plan? To task manage? To stay focused and productive? 

  • Can you give us a run down of your daily schedule?

  • Most days, do you feel like you have enough time in a day to get done what you need to accomplish?

  • Are there any other tasks that you do throughout your work or day that are of most importance?

 

Task Managing Apps and Tools:

 

  • Have you used any apps or websites or other programs to help you with plan or manage your day? Which ones?

  • What did you want them to do for you? How do they serve you?

  • What was your expected outcome from using these apps?

  • What do you like about them?

  • What do you dislike about them?

  • Did you pay for them? Why? Why not?

 

What Apps Do They Use:

 

  • What (e.g. apps, calendar, notes, planning in head?) helps keep you on task?

  • How does that help you?

  • What (e.g. app, task, habit, product?) is a barrier to you accomplishing your task?

  • How do it prevent you from being on task?

  • Do you share or are accountable to anyone when you accomplish what you need to get done throughout the day? 

  • When? Why? How?

  • What (if anything) do you do to keep track of what you’re doing?

  • How does that help you?

 

Social Media Apps Use:

 

  • Have you used any social apps or websites or other programs? Which ones?

  • What did you want them to do for you? How do they serve you?

  • What was your expected outcome from using these apps?

  • What do you like about them?

  • What do you dislike about them?

  • Did you pay for them? Why? Why not?

 

Social Media and Productivity Habits:

 

  • How have you seen your social  habits changed over time?

  • How much time would you say you collectively use social media throughout your day?

  • Which apps do you use the most? Why?

  • How have you seen your usage of social media apps change over time?

  • How have you seen your productivity level change over time?

  • What did you used to do 6 months ago?

  • What did you use to do where you felt you were most productive and accomplishing the most?

  • Have the social media software and tools you use changed? Which did you used to use?

 

Conclusion and Thank You:

 

  • Thanks participant for their time

  • Get them to initial sign-in sheet, and hand them their reimbursement

  • Provide assistance with leaving building
